i. What You Need

To follow along with the tutorials in this book, you’ll need the following:

• A Mac running macOS Big Sur (11.0) or later.
• Xcode 12.2 or later.
• An Apple Developer account. You can enroll at https://developer.apple.com/programs/. For development, the free account will suffice, but if you want to distribute the apps you build, you’ll need a paid account.

You can use the simulator that comes with Xcode for all of the chapters.

Note: At the time this is published, macOS Big Sur is still in beta. If necessary, content will be updated as updates come out. Until Big Sur is released, apps built for it will not be uploadable to the App Store.
